Ugandan Afrobeats has gained significant momentum in recent years. This fusion of styles has not only captivated local audiences but also garnered international attention. Originating in Uganda, this genre has provided a platform for talented artists such as Eddy Kenzo, Spice Diana, Sheebah Karungi, Jose Chameleone, and Bebe Cool to showcase their unique blend of cultural influences and modern beats.

Before the rise of Uganda Afrobeat music, the country’s earliest form of music was known as Kadongo Kamu, which dates back to the 1960s. Another notable genre was Kindandali, which has similarities to Afrobeat music. These genres were led by the likes of Ugandan legends, like Elly Wamala, Fred Masagazi, Jimmy Katumba, or Philly Lutaaya, all who reign from the 1950s to the 1980s.
