Mississippi Hoods
Map and Tour of the Streets of Mississippi
In the heart of the South, a place that has much history, resides dozens of Mississippi hoods that are scattered throughout the state. From the Delta to along the shores of the Gulf Coast, the state of Mississippi has a number of cities and towns across the state are home to some of the South’s most infamous communities.
Giving an insight into the streets of Mississippi, view the North Side, West Side, and South Side of the state’s largest city in Jackson. View the heart of the Delta with the region’s two largest cities, Greenville and Clarksdale. While there are other cities of the Delta, many that will be added, Greenville and Clarksdale has produced some of the most notable hoods in Mississippi. From Greenville’s Carver Circle, Soybean City, and Nelson Street, to Clarksdale’s Brickyard, Riverton, and Round Yard areas.
Outside of the Delta and Jackson, there isolated cities and small towns in every corner of the state. This includes Natchez, Hattiesburg, Biloxi-Gulfport, Meridian, Columbus, and several others. With each city and every community hosting its own unique story, Mississippi has proven there is no place like it.
As far as Mississippi gangs, Chicago’s influence and family ties once dominated the landscape, dating back to the 1980s and 1990s, with the arrival of Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords, and affiliations out of the Windy City. Following Chicago’s influence, Bloods and Crips arrived in several locations within the state. While there are gangs in Mississippi, including white gangs, like Chicago’s Simon City Royals, this map just highlights the neighborhoods of Mississippi’s largest cities and towns.

The town of Richland, MS is considered to be all Simon City Royal territory and the town of Sardis, MS is considered to be all Vice Lord territory they even call it “Vice Lord City” as the urban nickname for the town.
please label Da Front and Backastan / Da Back in Sherwood. I know Backastan is all of La Margie Ave and that whole area.

I’m from South Mississippi. The Gangster Disciples have been around the Gulf Coast since the early 1980s but they really blew up around the late 1980s. The Vice Lords blew up around the late 1980s as well, Simon City Royals blew up around the early to mid 1990s. The Latin Kings blew up around the late 1990s to the early 2000s.
GDs, VLs, SCRs, and LKs are considered the “Big 4” in Mississippi because those are the largest organizations we have.
We also had our homegrown gangs that were quite notable at the time.
Q Catz (Gulfport)
Pinecrest Posse (Gulfport)
Pacific Corner Posse (Gulfport)
School Yard Playaz (Gulfport)
H.A.M. Posse (Biloxi)
There was also a fairly large group of white Gangster Disciples from Diberville called the Forrest Cove Coalition.
Ive also had family members from Hancock County who went to high school with a lot of Simon City Royals back in the early 2000s and they would tell me how the SCR kids would always wear blue or Kansas City Royal gear every day at school and they would get into fights with anyone that claimed or associated with Vice Lords or Latin Kings.
MurdaGang MG4L!
I’m from Slidell, Louisiana but I got family members from Pearl River County in South Mississippi, the Latin Kings have a local chapter in that county and it’s nothing but southern white guys who come from a trailer park somewhere out in the country like they’re straight white trash here. I ran into them LKs every summer when I stayed with my people growing up, I would see them hangin’ out at the community park in poplarville or some cheap motel.
They were also a few dozen Latin Kings I saw at the beach in Gulfport one time when I was 12 back in 2006. All of them were either country rednecks or urban white guys who liked hip hop.
We actually have a Latin King chapter in Slidell now which is not surprising because Mississippi is not that far from here. We also have a Simon City Royals chapter here too and I heard there’s also a few white guys who claim Insane Gangster Disciples (IGD/974) around here too.

You had a lot of white boys claiming to be Gangster Disciples & Vice Lords in South Jackson & in Rankin County back in the 1990s, it was a huge trend back then.
Eventually, these white boys ended up becoming Kings or Royals later in life because they really weren’t Gs or Lords to begin with…they was false claiming basically.
Rankin County got A LOT of Simon City Royals spread throughout there, that’s one of there strong holds
Almighty Simon City Royals Nation are Latin Folks & apart of the Almighty Familia / Almighty Folks sub-alliance within the Folks Nation. The Insane Royal Knights kinda consider themselves to be a branch of GDN in Mississippi & that’s why their lit is very different from the Almighty Royals. IRKs throw up the rakes & still reps the 6 pointed star even tho the Almighty/Chicago Royals hasn’t used those symbols since the 1990s.
IRKs aren’t even a thing anymore, they extinct. It’s Almighty Or Nobody 🤞💙🐰 if you claim SCR then u claim Almighty Familia period…not Insane or Gangster…it’s Almighty Folkkz
The Wood Street Playaz outta Jackson, MS were a notorious rap group & street gang that were Almighty Vice Lords.
