While there are other cities of the Delta, many that will be added, Greenville and Clarksdale has produced some of the most notable hoods in Mississippi. Outside of the Delta and Jackson, there isolated cities and small towns in every corner of the state. This includes Natchez, Hattiesburg, Biloxi-Gulfport, Meridian, Columbus, and several others. As far as Mississippi gangs, Chicago’s influence and family ties once dominated the landscape, dating back to the 1980s and 1990s, with the arrival of Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords, and affiliations out of the Windy City. Following Chicago’s influence, Bloods and Crips arrived in several locations within the state. While there are gangs in Mississippi, including white gangs, like Chicago’s Simon City Royals, this map just highlights the neighborhoods of Mississippi’s largest cities and towns.
